We are the Leiden Blues, a recreational ice hockey team part of the club Leiden Lions. The team was founded in 2012 as the Rusty Blades 2 and became the Leiden Blues in 2013. We currently don't play in a league, though we do try to regularly play friendly games against similar teams. Our practices are on Thursday evenings from 22:00 until 23:00 and on Saturday evenings from 20:15 until 21:15 in Schaatshal Leiden.
Our team is made up of players in all shapes and sizes. The ages range from 20 years old to 60 years old and we have both male and female players. There are people who have played the game ever since their chilhood and people who just started out this year. We believe that it is never to late to start playing ice hockey! Even though no one is exceptionally skilled, we do thoroughly enjoy the game and are always up for a beer in the 4th period.
